Why does sourthen hemisphere of earth has different climate than northen?

witz1960 is pretty much right except that its not really that one hemisphere is closer to the Sun that makes the difference, but that the tilt of the Earth causes the Suns rays to impact one hemisphere much more directly than the other. As a result the hemisphere that gets the more direct rays absorbs more solar energy for a given area, and thus heats more.
