What ever happened about the human trafficer that tried to kill the border patrol agents?

The story isn't bogus. There was a big stink from the Mexican side when the "innocent" "child" was first killed and then more and more was learned about his human and drug smuggling record. To the question the matter has not yet been completely resolved. I know that he was a bad seed and was throwing something that "could" kill. But, I think the agents face a tough fight getting out of this, especially considering the heated relations going on right now.
