If the United States were imperialist, why didn't it keep any of the following nations?
I notice that your list did not contain a mention of the former soviet union. Although it has been argued that Hitlers losses on the Russian front alone would have destroyed the Nazis ability to prosecute the war, the fact is that the nazis were beating on the doors of the Russian industrial complex shortly after that horrible winter and that without U.S. support and aid they would have been crushed by a re-organized Nazi Germany like all the rest of Europe. Every military action the U.S. has engaged in was designed to stop the spread of communism and therefor the inevitable world war that would have resulted from a stronger, bigger, more organized communist movement around the globe. Regardless of a willingness to turn a blind eye to the benifits of the United States "meddling" around the world, the U.S. has saved more lives in a short two hundred year history than any other nation or combination of nations in the history of man. To the detractors I can only say this, I wish for you open minds, and eyes and ears, and if that is not possible for you, please, just shut up and leave. I don't care where you go, just go.
